Our 2025 Chardonnay was sourced entirely from the weathered granite slopes of the Dash Farms vineyard - the same site as our single vineyard offering (to be released later in the year).

A slightly longer pressing and ageing solely in  a combination of old French oak and stainless steel has resulted in a beautiful Chardonnay with all the hallmarks of our house style, while also presenting a wonderful drinkability in youth.

Aromatically floral and inviting with jasmine blossom, lemon zest and subtle crushed stone, the palate is focused and precise, with lemon and faint green almond flavours, yet offers lovely concentration of flavour and finely mouth coating texture. Cellar into the medium term or enjoy now in youth.

REVIEWS

"The 2025 Chardonnay is minty and saline, with notes of nashi pear, green apple, fresh mint leaves and shaved fennel. There are some notes of chamomile flowers, too. The palate is chalky and linear, with attractive purity and focus. This has very little of the malolactic/nutty complexity seen in the single-vineyard Chardonnay. The difference is nice." - Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate USA (93 Points)

PAST REVIEWS

Vintage 2024:

"It's flavoursome, rich in a way, but also holds shape in a cooler frame though it touches medium weight too ... Character filled, compelling drinking, a chardonnay not afraid of flavour but happy resting in a space that feels cooler and brighter too. Apple, cashew, almond, pulpy grapefruit, cumquat, cinnamon. Go forth, this is super drinking." - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front (95 Points)

"The 2024 Chardonnay is sourced from vineyards in Western and Central Victoria and leads with an eminently lean and almost austere nose of lemongrass, yuzu peel, brine and white cloth/vinegar. The wine is creamy and nutty on the palate, with pert acidity and a stream of white and yellow fruits that form the core. The more of this I drink, the more of this I like; the penetrating fruit and the sleek texture are truly the highlights. It has dried herbs and a dusty, warm breeze that carries spice and leaves along with it. It's almost oily in its weight in the mouth, with apricot and preserved citrus. As usual, it's not straightforward—and great for that." - Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate USA (93 Points)

Vintage 2023:

"Josh Cooper has emerged as a serious talent in the world of Chardonnay, and the evidence is plain for all to see. Here we have hints of apricot skins and peach pits, with a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon. Florals, figs, lemongrass, and notes of mandarin are in support, and the oak is beautifully melded. A seductively lingering finish. This is a joy to drink now but will still offer pleasure over the next 8–12 years." - Ken Gargett, The World of Fine Wine (95 Points)
